What net metering does
A bi-directional meter records both import and export. Daytime surplus flows to the grid and offsets units you draw at night, so you are billed only on the net difference.
Timeline and steps
Application and technical feasibility, sanctioned-load check, installation, inspection by the discom, meter replacement, and commissioning. Two to four weeks is typical when documentation is complete.
Common delays
Mismatched consumer names, sanctioned load lower than the proposed system, and pending dues are the three most frequent hold-ups. We check all three before applying.
